Apple Watch is one of my favourite devices I use everyday. It’s always on my wrist. I snooze my alarm on the watch. Multiple times. I track my workouts and walks. I use it to set timers for all types of activities. And I control my music from it, mostly to skip to the next track.
And of course, I see notifications on my watch. All day. Some of them are useful, a few are actionable, but all of them demand attention. They don’t go away. They demands acknowledgement, and I have to stop whatever I am tracking on the watch, to dismiss the notification.
Hence, when I heard about the “wrist flick” gesture, it easily became the biggest announcement in Watch OS 26 for me. This simple yet powerful gesture will help me save countless number of taps on the “Dismiss” button.
Finally, a Watch OS feature that will improve my use of the Apple Watch. And make it more pleasant to use by removing the irritation of notifications.
Kudos to Apple for delivering this, albeit a bit late. I am sure every Apple Watch user has felt this annoyance, including all the folks at Apple. Thanks!
